Victor, New York (September 27, 2021) – Erfan Vafaie, Ph.D. has been named Technical Services Manager at BioWorks. In his new position, Dr. Vafaie will be responsible for leading the Technical Services team which provides information and education to our customers by advocating and communicating an understanding of the features, advantages and benefits of BioWorks’ products to grow the BioWorks footprint in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central America with an expanding portfolio of products, services, and programs.
Dr. Vafaie brings over 9 years of Integrated Pest Management to BioWorks with a focus in Entomology. He most recently held a position of Extension Program Specialist at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Overton, TX. In previous industry roles, Dr. Vafaie’s responsibilities ranged from designing, executing, and providing write ups on research experiments relevant to the greenhouse and nursery industry; both in controlled environments and on-site trials. Translating technical or academic results into educational programming and resources for growers, state-wide volunteers, County Extension Agents, and other specialists. He also served as a leader in mobilizing other specialists and entomologists to make use of innovative solutions to reach clientele, such as podcasts, social media, citizen science, video production, audience polling software, and generating content for blogs. Erfan earned his Ph.D. in Entomology from Texas A&M University.
